A place and a few instructions concerning printing.
This is what appears on the front of the sequence. Among the indications to be followed, one stands above all others: the relationship between front and back that defines the Redentore’s enigmatic presence.
A monumental façade that stands there waiting for a bridge of boats to reach it. A domestic rear, and the flourishing - at times almost oppressive - nature of the gardens.
In the end, the Basilica’s dual character is not so very different from the duplicity of the island that hosts it: that Giudecca island which presents itself with solidity towards Zattere and, as the view expands, dissolves towards the Lagoon on its back.
